Why Counseling?

Counseling is sought out for many different reasons, by all sorts of people.

Some people seek counseling to process challenging life experiences.

Sometimes therapy is helpful for someone experiencing anxiety, depression,

or other mental health symptoms.

Therapy can help with negative patterns of behavior, feeling isolated, or working towards goals.

Sometimes it's helpful to have someone listen to you without judgement.

You might be looking for support in making big decisions.

You might want ideas for ways to cope with stressors in your life.

Maybe you are looking for a place to celebrate the wins and find support for the losses.

Looking for a space where you feel brave enough to discover yourself.

To reflect, to cry, to laugh.

Whatever brings you to the journey of counseling, you are are welcome here.

I can't wait to meet you.

Bethany Chupp, LPC

As a counselor I work primarily with young adults, providing a therapeutic presence as you navigate challenging life transitions or past experiences. In your journey of self-discovery, I would be honored to walk alongside you. The world can feel big and scary at times, and it can feel so helpful to receive support from someone outside of your daily life. We can work together on identifying your needs, setting goals, developing coping skills, and building more positive relationships.

My work is trauma informed, so I invite you to share and process your experiences at a pace that feels safe to you. I value increasing the connection between thoughts in your mind and experiences in your body, bridging the space between the two using expressive arts, sandtray, mindfulness, play, and talk-based therapeutic practices.

I am a LGBTQ+ affirming counselor, and am personally working to increase my anti-racist practices and understanding. I am also a body-positive counselor and believe in health at every size. As a counselor working from a client-centered lens, I invite your participation in the therapeutic process and believe that counseling is work we can only do together.
